This full day of talks and case studies relates to working with and researching human remains. The day will include the conservation, storage and legal responsibilities relating to displaying this material.
Museum staff caring for collections will understand how important it is to be able to identify the materials objects are made from. This workshop aims to provide museum professionals and students with an opportunity to learn how to identify raw materials and understand how current legislation can guide best practice in the museum environment.

Many institutions look after diverse osteological collections with complicated care and management needs. Understanding, using, maintaining and conserving these collections is a large and complex topic. This day uses talks, examples, advice from experts in the field and the opportunity for hands-on tutoring to give collection managers greater insight into looking after these wonderful objects.
